Co-writing Authors
Co-writing Gil Books offer authors a unique opportunity, The two largest issues for budding authors, are typically initial exposure and lack of finances. Publishers are reluctant to finance them and marketing your own book, may well be far more difficult, than the actual writing of the book in the first place.
As our project matures, we will require regular stories from around the world. We would like to invite budding writers, professional and amateur, to write a story in conjunction with Gilgamesh.
By co-writing a story with Gil, which we publish, you are guaranteed exposure to our network of readers. This could put your name in front of 1,000’s of readers. This coverage could be utilized to increase your exposure in the future, for your own works.
We provide a ‘skeleton guideline’ of what we would like to see in each story. This will be the framework for your adventure with Gil the Travelling Gecko. Being bi-lingual, with one of these languages being English, is key to the initial success of the books. As we grow we intend to extend this to other languages other than English as the baseline language.
Giving back to Authors Co-writing Gil Books
Each co-writer who has a story chosen and published through us, will receive a profit share of sales for that particular story book, regardless of whether it is purchased as an e-book or as a printed book. You will be able to utilise your success with Gil’s World and Unus Mens to jump start your writing career. Hopefully you will then have the finances to allow you to do so.
Over time, some of our readers will hopefully become co-authors themselves of future Gil adventures. Should their stories become published, there is no reason at all why some of these children cannot become financially independent writers in the future.
No contracts and no broken promises.
Unus Mens is not a mainstream publisher and you will be free to contract any publisher for your subsequent works outside of the Gil’s World sphere.

We intend to open up the co-writing Gil books, to amateur authors as well in the near future. This will be done on a writers competition basis and aimed directly at our readers. Young readers will be allowed to be assisted by their parents, family and guardians.
