One thing that you cannot miss when visiting Edinburgh is the Edinburgh Castle. It is huge and dominates the city, you really can’t miss it. The castle has been here for over 1,000 years and welcomes over 1 million visitors every year. Every day at 1pm, a cannon is fired from the castle. And if you want to get up and close to a real cannon, you can visit Mons Meg, which was once upon a time one of the greatest cannon’s in the medieval Europe.

When it is time to move on, Edinburgh Zoo is a great day out for all the family. You can see pandas, koalas, lemurs, meerkats, lions, monkeys, parrots, penguins and loads of other exciting animals. If you want to get a little more involved you could enjoy a day as a wildlife photographer at the zoo or even become a trainee zoo keeper.

If you want to become Indiana Jones or Sherlock Holmes for the day, you can try out The Edinburgh Treasure Trail. This fun tour makes you watch out for clues which are scattered around the city.

At night time you can try out The Cadies and Witchery Tours which offer spooky tours filled with ghosts and gore and even a murder mystery tour to discover.
